Oskari Kela's family background is strongly contemporary dance-oriented, the first choreography he designed as early as 1997 at the age of 13 at Zodiak - a new dance center together with the top names in the field, Jorma Uotinen, Riitta Vainio and Tiina Lindfors.

He began his dance studies at Dance Center Footlight in 1998 with rhythmic dances. Tap and Irish Dance were his main genres. The teachers have been e.g. Taina Schorin-Keltto, Hannaleena Markkanen, Pia Mettala, Tea Rosenberg, Lane Alexander, Robert L. Reed, Barbara Phillips. He has also been involved in the composition of the Dance Group Five Steps, winning the small group Championship gold in the Tap category of the 2008 Show and Discotheque Championships. As a teacher, Oskari is encouraging and accurate.
